5 Favourite IF channels

Five of my favourite, most useful channels on IF

  1. Weather Channel

Weather is a native Channel on IFTTT that provides a set of Triggers specifically for weather conditions and temperatures in your area. We use this to get the sunrise and sunset times for our lights, so they always know when to turn on and how to change colour.

  2. LIFX

LIFX is a multi-color smart WiFi-enabled LED lightbulb. For more information on how to use IFTTT integration, please visit the support page.

This is the channel for our lightbulbs, which are LIFX, but you can also get the Hue channel, or other bulbs as well.

  3. Flic

Flic is a smart button that acts like a shortcut for your everyday life. You can read more about Flic at Flic.io.

We use flic for a clocking in machine as well as accessible lightswitches. More about this in a number of longer posts! Check out flic help for an emergency call button Stuart made.

  4. Google Calendar

Google Calendar is a free time-management web application offered by Google.

We use this channel to send complicated scheduling reminders to our lightbulbs, like meds every 72 hours, for example.

  5. Maker

The Maker Channel allows you to connect IFTTT to your personal DIY projects. With Maker, you can connect a Recipe to any device or service that can make or receive a web request (aka webhooks). See how others are using the Maker Channel, or share your own experience at hackster.io.
